GWAMM is meh, and once again why i will gladly be touting my Grandmaster Treasure Hunter (when i get it) more proudly than the fail that GWAMMers are lately.

As mentioned above, most quests are one time only. It would take alot of processing to find out whether you have not done the quest, or completed the quest, or not eligible for the quest because you have done or have another alternate quest, etc. There are also some quests that people missed that cant be gotten back anymore, like some of the ones in pre-searing or festival quests.

The quest design is not meant for titles.
The hero books were implemented without breaking the design. A character can now go back and re-do a mission for credit in the books. Of course, none of them start in the lowest level areas (except for in HM), but I do not understand why a similar idea cannot be used for quests.

Quests are a one-shot deal. If you've done them, you cannot access them for credit again. In the coding, all that changes is a variable for the character. The information is already tracked by these variables. How difficult, then, would it be to implement a title track?

Yep..what Guildwars really need now is another Goddarned useless title. Wish all these titles simply went away. These titles are the cornerstones of grind, exploit-hunt, botting, leeching and every game-killing thing that you can or can't think of.

These titles were introduced to keep people glued to a game with more stale content than abandoned loo.

Well said, Vel.

Just see what they did in WoW. Add Achievements/Titles to give people "something to do" when they are already "done" with the game. Basically, to stretch content if you cannot deliver more in time.

We already have ridiculous titles for doing ridiculous things.

This title actually makes some sense. But be honest, we did quests before without getting a title for it. We just did not need it.

I dunno

I know I have a lot of side quests to do and a title would be more of an incentive to do them, especially as the ones I've done usually have an incentive, like Trade Contracts or Kurzick Faction, etc...

having this title would also be a good lil incentive to make guild mission running a more regular event, but it would have to be retroactive and include what we've done before

Well for one, alot of the quests are pretty neat. And people pay no mind to them. It's like one entire dev who worked on writing these just got ignored, but the mappers got acknowledged with Cartography. The title makes sense. I've commented on this to several guildies and friends in the past.

I don't see how this would cheapen GWAMM at all, it's a title that actual requires work and dedication, and it's not just mindless grind like so many other titles are. Heck, it's not even about reaching a magic number like most of them are. It's about completing storyline elements, which in my mind gives a far more impressive status than someone who bought a few thousand platinum worth of alcohol and double clicked an icon for 36 hours.

Of all the things in this game to add a title for, questing would be the most obvious becuase of the nature of having to go complete all of them. It's work, dedication, fun (or at least more so than trying to get 10 million Kurzick points), and NOT grind.

this has been suggested before and adding more titles into the game will offset the difficulty (well, whateve difficulty is left ;-)) of getting GWAMM. don't get me wrong, it would be a fun title to do, but unfortunately more titles is unlikely anywhere in the near future. we do get new uber quests in the form of zaishen quests coming out in the april update =D. i'm quite excited about thet ;-)

Missions are designed differently from quests. Mission status are contained in your character data when you login. You can easily view them through the campaign map.

Quests, on the other hand, is evaluated on a per explorable basis after loading an area. It cant be based solely on your quest log because there will be quests that you have not gotton or are not eligible for anymore. It is possible to have quests in your quests log that you cannot complete anymore too. There are also quests that are repeatable and disappear after you have completed them. Their database doesn't keep track of how many times you actually repeated them or if you have not even done them once.

I will venture to say that when the quests system was first designed back in prophecies, they didn't think of having them as titles for grind.

Check this german website, language also in English.

www.gwchars.de

Check the statistics section and look for whatever titles you want and see who of the registered users has it maxed. It has 440+ GWAMM on this site only.

If not GW1, then definately Guild Wars 2. Both Warhammer Online and World of Warcraft implement a questing title very well. Its a pity so many people ignore the many Quests Guild Wars has.

In my opinion, anet should make one more title for quest accomplistment
Like making a book to keep a record of what quest u did, and what you need. Complete all 3 campaign quest and they should give you a title like:"The Adventurer". I mean they have title for finish mission, why not add a title for quest.
I like the idea but rather then a book they should track it in your titles tab.

Shouldn't this be in Sardelac?

This is an old suggestion, but nonetheless good, because the emphasis is on gw2 now, and this is directly linked to it.

op need to search more this has been thought about lots of times, and there lots of reason why they wont for gw1, most other games titles are done alot different in games , but alot have quest books, so far the best quest book i have seen is in atlantica.

gives all quests, not the quest it self but says where you get the quest from and after you get the quest it will tell y ou more info about it. also tells you what level youneed to be and so on. game also has a auto move to quest and some other nice things about it.
ANYWAYS

the reason or at least some of them are
1.99% of all quest in guildwars are one time only per toon.
2.there alot of quests that are game only for toons made for that game , there some in gwen that are gender only,
3. gwamm is a easy title to get and if they add more titles then they would have to make another title for titles maxing other then gwamm. and anet has said there just to much work into that . and they feel 30 is enough to do per toon . as it stands now they should have made 35 titles be max. not 30
